Our team heads to the wake place, on the same day or one day after the transfer, to carry out the setup before the wake starts.
The funeral/ wake place set up is done according to the religion of the funeral. It will usually consist of an altar for the deceased, with an open or closed casket, a religious altar, and a backdrop. The rest of the space is used for table and chairs for friends and family. A reception table will be set up near the altar.
Once the setup is completed, the wake starts. Families gather and keep agile at the wake for the next 3 to 5 days. There are some wakes that go for 7 days but those are rare nowadays.
For wakes that takes more than 7 days, a prior written permission will have to be sought from the National Environment Agency (NEA).
For freethinkers (without religion), a simple and elegant backdrop will be used without any reference to any religion.
